Public Relations is often defined in relation to other terms. It is often defined as something which is not advertising, something which is not marketing, something which is not HR, something which is not media. However, public relations, or PR as it is known, is a wee bit of all of the above. I do feel that PR has often been neglected in India. The very nature of PR ensures that it remains hidden from the public glare. There are a number of important PR agencies in India as well. In India, it is seen that a large number of companies as well as government organizations are quite inept in public relations. I would discuss few case studies in later posts.
